home office progress

In February, I narrowed down the vision for my home office. Black and white awesomeness. And since it is April, I bet you are thinking that I am about to show you the big reveal. Right? Nope. And believe me, no one is more bummed about it than this chica.

Earlier this year, we found out that we need to place new insulation in our attic. You are supposed to have about 10 inches of insulation and we found out that we only have two. TWO!!!! No wonder it's always freezing up there. So what? Well, the closet in that room is the only access that we have to the attic. And when I say access, I mean the smallest hole you have ever seen. My husband barely fits through it. Me? I will never know because there is no way in hell that I will be going up there. It looks dark and scary.

We are tackling this project soonish which means that there will be a lot of people coming in and out through that room, so I've decided to just wait until the insulation is done and then I will set shop.

However, that doesn't mean that I haven't been day dreaming about my office space to be. Below is how I'm thinking on bringing the vision to life.

I'll probably won't buy some of these specific pieces, but rather do a couple of hacks. Like that West Elm bookcase that is $899!!! So I've found a couple of DIY tutorials on Pinterest (where else?) that show how to transform an Ikea bookcase into a pretty similar looking West Elm one. So we shall see.
