bangkok, thailand - part 2

I think by our second day in Thailand, we were used to the time change. Crazy! I know! But maybe it was because we were so excited to be there. And the fact that we went to bed at like 9pm the night before probably helped.

So on our last full day in Bangkok, we went back to the touristy area where we were at the day before to check out the other things that we didn't get a chance to see.

After checking out the market and buying a couple of souvenirs, we went to Wat Arun. This
temple is crazy. The stairs were so steep that you had to hold for dear life so you wouldn't fall down. I was amazed that they were letting people go up like that because in the US that would never be allowed, but then again, we were on the other side of the world.

After exploring Wat Arun, we decided to checkout the Chatuchak Weekend Market. This place is a ginormous flea market. You can pretty much find anything here. From clothes, restaurants, furniture and even art. I really wish they had a place like this in Boston. I would go every weekend!

That night we decided to explore some street food. Every single guidebook that I read said that Bangkok's street food was delicious, so we went to this area by our hotel called the Soi 38 Night Market and bought food from a stall that looked pretty busy. We saw locals eating there, which means that it had to be good. And it didn't disappoint! It was delicious. Oh and our 2 meals with drinks was probably like $10 total if not less.

And just like that, our stay in Bangkok came to an end. On to Cambodia! Stay tuned for that recap.
